COVID-19 School Closure Care

In response to the closure of schools throughout our community, we have structured our programming to accomodate social distancing, e-learning, and some fun for your kiddos. Care is available to children currently enrolled in Kindergarten or older 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM. We will feed kids breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack.

Children are encouraged to bring e-learning materials that can be completed during their day at the Y. We will be working on school work one hour every day, except during Spring Break.

Improving the quality of life of those around us has become a new opportunity for everyone in our program. We will be be working on weekly pictures, letters, and cards for residents at Wesley Manor.

Our daily program structure will include the following:

  1. Writing Block: 30 Minutes Daily
  2. Reading Block: 20-30 Minutes Daily
  3. Recreation Time: Each of the following daily with additional time allotted
    • Youth Activity Center - 30 Minutes
    • Gym - 30 Minutes
    • Outside (Weather Permitted) - 30 Minutes
    • Swimming - 60 Minutes (please bring towel, swim suite, and a change of clothes)
  4. GoNoodle: 30 Minutes Daily
  5. Free Choice Time: there are multiple times through the day where this time is used to creaft, play games, and enjoy some downtime alone or with friends.

Program Fees:

$106 Members/$132 Non Members Weekly

Financial assistance and CCDF available for those in need of financial support to attend the program.

COVID-19 Cleaning Regulations & Temperature Checks:

Before and After School Care

Care is available for children who attend Clinton Prairie Elementary, Blue Ridge Elementary, Green Meadows Elementary, or Suncrest Elementary Schools before and after school. Care begins at 6:00 AM and children attending before school care will be transported by YMCA staff to their respective school. In the afternoon, children will be picked up at their school by YMCA staff and transported to the YMCA for parents to pick up their children by 6:00 PM. Children attending the program will receive a snack before school and dinner after school.

School Breaks, Early Dissmissal, Delays, and Closures

At the Y, we understand that parents and guardians still have to work when school is out. We have care available for school age children for breaks, delays, early dissmissal, and closures at the Y. Here is how it works:

Weather Related Early Dissmissal or Delay

  • Care is available for current participants already paying the weekly rate for an additional fee of $5 per child per day
  • Care is available for those who are registered for breaks but need care when school is delayed or early dismissal for $12 per child per day
  • Transportation is provided

School Break Camps

  • Available during Spring Break, Christmas Break, Fall Break, and Summer Break
  • Snacks and meals are provided
  • Registration is required 1 week before the start of break
  • The cost for members is $106 per week and $132 for non members per week

Individual School Day Closure

  • This applies when school is closed due to weather, weather make up day, or the day before Thanksgiving
  • Snacks and meals are provided
  • The cost is $25 per day for members and $35 per day for non members
